That’s part of why fashion’s so relevant and it’s also why it’s such a big environmental polluter.  A lot of people don’t know, but fashion is the world’s second largest contributor to climate change.

The problem is clothing is now disposable. It’s not made to last and falls apart quickly. It’s fast fashion. Made from slave labor with cheap, synthetic fabrics soaked in chemicals. 

The chemicals soak into your skin and cause everything from skin rashes to cancers. When you wash these clothes, chemicals get into the water supply.

Not all parts of the garment are made in the same place. They’re made and shipped all over the world. All of this uses an enormous amount of resources. 

You wear it a few times, it rips, you throw it away. 

Except there is no away...

They’re pilling up in landfills at an uncontrollable rate. 

Fashion is a forum.
